The Book that changed my life:

Kindle | Audiobook | Paperback | Hardcover

Introduction

This book was written by Napolean Hill after researching more than 25000 successful people for 25 years. This book is also considered as the road map to success where we can learn how to achieve success step by step. The author explained these steps in detail with perfect stories and incidents. I like the quote of this book “You are the master of your fate and captain of the soul” which has deep meaning.

My Personal Experience

I was the type of person who never read any other books except my academic books just to pass my exam. I graduated in civil engineering, and I consider me an educated person. But I had only limited information and an academic certificate which will help me to get a job. I used to work as a civil engineer in a hydropower project, but due to some boss issues, I left the job and made up my mind to pursue my master’s degree and came to Kathmandu (capital of Nepal). When I came to Kathmandu, there was a lockdown in the country and I spent my time playing pubg and other online games, smoking and sleeping. I wasted 2 or 3 months just by doing nothing. I completely forgot why I left my job and what I am doing in Kathmandu. After that, I started the job again and thought to enrol in my master’s degree. I was confused about enrolling master’s degree in Nepal or abroad, so I thought to take a chance to enrol abroad. For that, I first needed to pass my IELTS exam. For the preparation of my IELTS, I joined an institute where the tutor provided me with one book named “Think and Grow Rich “to improve my English language. When I saw the title of the book for the first time, I felt funny thinking that how can someone be rich by thinking? But for the improvement of my English language, I started to read the book.

At first, it was hard for me to read a single page of that book because I had no reading habits, and it was difficult for me to understand English language. I stopped reading that book and after a couple of days I tried to read the book again but still, I was not able to read. I used to carry that book in my bag and one day, I was on the bus and started to read the book and I kept reading all the way. That night I googled about this book and came to know its summary and reviews.

I started that book, and it was an amazing eye-opener for me. I came to know about the power of our thoughts, burning desires, subconscious mind, consistency, discipline, and autosuggestions. As I went through the book, I found that one should have a personal visible and invisible mentor or advisor in the sector we want to improve. These advisors can be our teacher friends, authors, or business leaders.

So, to pick my invisible advisors in different sectors like finance, health, relationships, and spirituality; I started to research and explore the internet. Then I came to many amazing people which I had never heard about. And started to explore their thought process, their success and failures which gave me more clarity. I slowly change my bad habits into good habits. I quit my all-social media account and started to read more books, deactivate all social media, write journals of gratitude, sleep in time, work out, and meditation, saving and investing and respond to any situation rather than reacting.  It didn’t happen overnight, it took so long time to change my habits, still I must work on it.

Key Insights and Principles

  1. The Sixth Sense: The Door to the Temple of Wisdom: The sixth sense, or intuition, is seen as a higher form of understanding that can guide decisions and actions. Hill encourages developing and trusting this sense.
